Best Remote Teaching Positions for Military Spouses

by | Mar 13, 2018 | Teaching Jobs

How many of us have heard this?

“The best jobs for military spouses are teachers and nurses.”

Yep. I have. A ton. I even tried to the nursing thing and let me just tell you, I have a new found respect for the medical folks. *fist bump*

Teachers, however, are a unique field. Yes, there are schools in every location but not every state has the same teaching requirements or pay. And let’s face it, none of us want to hold a Master’s degree and teach for $30k. That ship won’t sail.

Online teaching positions have gained tons of traction over the years and have a wide range of positions to offer. You can be a tutor or you can teach college courses. Plus everything in between.

Most of the teaching positions that are readily available have been vetted for years, so there isn’t a lot of worry about whether or not a position is legitimate. Plus, I personally know people who have worked with these companies and wouldn’t trade their positions for the world.

VIPKidprovides an international learning experience to children in China between the ages 4-12. They offer fully immersive one-on-one English language instruction provided online. I have several friends that teach for them and LOVE it. Pay is around $19/hour.

Tutor.com – Part of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership.** You can tutor in ANY subject as long as you pass the certification test. Pay is about $20/hour.

** The Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) is a career partnership that connects military spouses with employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses. Tutor.com is committed to hiring military spouses, especially as tutors who can choose their own schedule and work remotely.

Rosetta Stone – offers English language coaching positions. Currently multiple available. There is also the option to sign up for job alerts.

If teaching is your true passion, there is literally no end to the opportunities that are found online. Let’s be real, these jobs will survive your PCS better than some of your household goods.

Happy applying! I can’t wait to hear all of your success stories.

Xx
